About the Artist:
I was born in London in 1983, and have completed an Art Foundation Diploma in 2002; subsequently I completed a degree in Architecture in 2006 which I was awarded the 2003 Stephen Lawrence Architectural Scholarship. At present I’m completing a postgraduate degree for MSc Building Surveying.
My artwork is simply a tension between the looseness of fine art, and the rigid rules of architecture, essentially chaos vs. order. My art borders between representation and abstraction, and these themes are explored in three series of my current works, portraits series, reflections series, and one blood series.
Tony Panayiotou Director of Diversity, Arts Council England said "I have had a look at your website and found your work very interesting, challenging - particularly the 'One blood' series of paintings."
The One Blood series has been inspired by trying to explore the relationship between the environment and myself. One could argue that thought is always changing, your physical body sheds and rebuilds it self, what you see as reality will become a memory. By trying to capture and hold onto your thoughts you lose it, the original thought changes its form into something different either positive or negative. This series of work is about using the powerful medium of blood and celebrating being in the moment of thought.
